About the Role The Lead Engineer - Protection & Control will drive protection and control engineering activities for The United Illuminating Company, part of Iberdrola Group (Avangrid). This role supports NERC Reliability Standards, CIP and Operations & Planning (O&P) responsibilities for electric transmission/operations, and may be assigned to system emergency roles requiring work outside regular hours. The position will primarily operate in Connecticut, with opportunities to engage across Avangrid networks in Maine, Massachusetts, and New York. What You'll Do
- Lead design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of protection and control schemes for transmission and distribution systems.
- Support NERC Reliability Standards compliance and CIP/O&P responsibilities, including access protections, training, audit engagement, and retention of required evidence.
