Under direct supervision, the Laboratory Technician I will assist with processing clinical specimens and provide general lab support in the Cytogenetics department. This entry-level role emphasizes learning and development in a temporary status, with duties performed under close supervision. What You'll Do
- Receives, organizes and processes clinical specimens accurately.
- Identifies worksheet, computer, and specimen problems and resolves or elevates to licensed personnel.
- Prepares and organizes data, printouts, and documents for licensed technologist review.
- Prepares testing equipment and assists with preventative maintenance.
- Reports problems to the Laboratory Supervisor or Lead Technologist to ensure timely resolution.
- Operates automated equipment per SOP.
