L2 Network Engineer
About this role
About the Role The L2 Network Engineer will be based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and will monitor and maintain network devices at data center (DC), disaster recovery (DR) and near-data-center (NDR) sites to ensure network performance and reliability. The role involves handling network issues through ticketing, troubleshooting and escalation, performing basic configuration changes, and sharing device health reports. You’ll collaborate with DC teams, service providers and other IBM engineers, participate in DR drills, and contribute to network documentation and cabling tasks. What You'll Do
- Monitor and maintain network devices at DC/DR/NDR sites
- Handle network issues: ticketing, troubleshooting, and escalation
- Perform basic configuration changes as per SOPs
- Share daily reports on device health and network alerts
- Support L2 engineers with issue resolution
