About the Role Toast’s Payments team is responsible for processing payments for restaurants and ensuring timely payout. We’re seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help build the next generation payment processing platform by combining deep payments expertise with AI agentic development. The role focuses on designing and delivering scalable, secure backend services that power payment acceptance across channels and a configurable enterprise approach.
What You'll Do
- Plan, design, build, and deliver features for Toast’s payments products
- Roll features out to customers with monitoring for success
- Collaborate with PM and UX on feature definition and design
- Partner with a wide array of teams across Toast to spread knowledge inter- and intra-team
- Design, estimate, implement, test, and debug end-to-end agent solutions
