About the Role As a patient-focused part of University of Utah Health, the Hospital Crisis Response Worker provides crisis assessment in a hospital setting as part of the Utah Statewide crisis response system, leading to stabilization and referrals. The role includes screening, triage, psycho-social support, and connections to resources in collaboration with local mental health authorities. What You'll Do

• Actively engage and establish a non-judgmental, respectful relationship with individuals in crisis.
• Use open-ended questions to define problems and obtain a clear picture of the situation.
• Use closed-ended questions to assess safety, including suicide risk prompts.
• Assess life-threatening situations, evaluate safety and acuity, and determine medically necessary services.
• Mobilize community resources and plan immediate risk reduction.
