About the Role Histology Technician at Evanston Hospital will process, embed, section, and stain tissue specimens to support histology workflows. This role performs manual and automated embedding and microtomy, ensuring quality control and accurate tissue preparation. What You'll Do
- Process tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor.
- Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder.
- Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks (manual and automated).
- Recuts of tissue blocks.
- Perform Special Stains.
- IF cryotomy of skin specimens. What We're Looking For
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program.
- Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible.
- Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred.
