Job title: Field Organizer
About the Role New Jersey Communities United is seeking a Field Organizer to join our Newark-based organizing team. This full-time role reports to the Field Director and works closely with an organizing team and our base of early childhood workers to advance an equitable and affordable childcare system across New Jersey.
What You'll Do
- Build one-on-one relationships with workers and community members
- Find and manage campaign information
- Organize and run community meetings and actions
- Build strong organizing committees
- Communicate campaign messages clearly both verbally and in writing
- Use strategic judgment and problem solving skills
- Work with a diverse team
- Work independently within a plan
- Be willing to learn new skills and commit to the mission and model of NJCU
- Be available to work evenings and weekends when projects demand it
