About the Role The Engineering Intern is a technically focused role at Curtiss-Wright’s Charlotte, NC site, working closely with the Business Unit Manager to optimize the shot peening process. The position involves designing and executing tooling and processes, with emphasis on 3D printing and hands-on fabrication to improve operations.
What You'll Do
- Operate and maintain a 3D printer
- Design and fabricate custom tooling using conventional methods and 3D printing
- Identify opportunities for masking/general improvements
- Create SolidWorks models, assemblies and drawings
- Support machine improvements, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Research and procure materials from vendors
- Potentially travel to facilities for on-site work
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical Engineering student of sophomore standing or higher with at least a 3.0 GPA in major
