About the Role Union Pacific is seeking a Diesel Locomotive Mechanic to service and repair our diesel locomotive fleet, ensuring safe operation and compliance with company and federal standards. What You'll Do
- Efficiently operate equipment including measuring instruments, precision machines, hand tools, and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, and overhead hoists).
- Communicate technical information, job briefs, procedures, and other work-related information verbally and in writing via phone, radio, and intercom.
- Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, graphs, and charts; input data into computer systems as needed.
- Ensure equipment and materials are available and ready for use; maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and customers; handle controversy professionally.
- Ensure compliance with railroad safety rules and FRA regulations.
