Volt is immediately hiring Design Engineer - Gas Turbine Engines in San Diego, CA. As a Design Engineer - Gas Turbine Engines, you will: Design and develop gearbox systems for gas turbine engines. Design gas turbine components for the powerhead, LRUs, and other equipment. Perform detailed mechanical design, including gear geometry, housing, bearings, seals, shafts, and lubrication systems. Conduct analytical studies (load analysis, thermal, FEA, fatigue) to ensure mechanical integrity and performance comply with customer and airworthiness specifications. Prepare and review engineering documentation including 3D models, drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Support testing and validation of the gearbox components and systems. Participate in root cause investigations and provide corrective actions for development and in-service issues.
