About the Role Data Scientist, SW Eng at Northern Trust will develop software (primarily Python) to independently acquire data from disparate sources and assemble datasets for training, validation, and testing. You will analyze raw data with descriptive statistics, build and maintain data pipelines, and contribute to machine learning model development across supervised, unsupervised, and time-series tasks. What You'll Do
- Develop Python software to ingest data from databases, files, and APIs and assemble training/validation/testing datasets.
- Analyze raw data using descriptive statistics and collaborate with domain experts to understand data fields.
- Create and maintain data quality checks, unit tests, and ETL-style data pipelines to ensure trusted inputs for algorithms.
