About the Role Belvac’s CNC Machinist role sets up and operates numerically controlled machines to perform turning, milling, boring, threading and facing on parts per work instructions to ensure Belvac quality. This onsite position supports production in Alfred, NY within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Identify proper tooling and verification instrumentation according to process sheets.
- Create new setup sheets for new jobs and install preset tooling in tool posts, turrets or automatic tool change magazines in the sequence specified on the process sheet.
- Review program to ensure consistency with prints; may operate machine manually during first piece operation to verify setup.
- Observe numerical displays on control panel and compare with process sheet data to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and speeds of machining cuts.
