About the Role Villanova University's Department of Theology & Religious Studies invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Eastern Christian Theology & Culture, to begin August 2027. The successful candidate will focus on any aspect of Eastern Christian traditions (e.g., Greek or Syriac Patristics, Byzantine Theology & Culture, Russian religious thought, contemporary Orthodox or Eastern Catholic theology & culture) and will demonstrate potential for teaching and mentoring excellence at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. The department seeks candidates whose research and/or teaching engage Catholicism in its theological and religious traditions, and who can contribute to a vibrant Catholic university environment.
